Enod11 : an universal marker gene for endosymbiosis?

We
have generated transgenic casuarinas expressing GUS under the control
of Medicago truncatula's enod11 gene promoter, a well known
marker of rhizobial and mycorrhizal symbioses in legumes. We are now
analyzing the conservation of its activation pattern in the context of
the actinorhizal and mycorhizal symbioses.
