     <description>International Master (M2) in medical and veterinary Entomology  -  Year 2010-2011: 1st call for student applications  (Dead line: March 31st, 2010)     &#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160;&#160; The fifth year of the International Master Degree in medical and veterinary Entomology (IME) will begin in September 2010 in Benin (West Africa). Students interested in this academic training are urged to register online at www.miemv.org, item “pre-registration&amp;quot;, no latter than March 31st, 2010.      <description>*EVIMalaR PhD programme : call for applications*EVIMalaR is a collaborative research Network of Excellence, funded by the European Commission. The consortium conducts research on malaria parasites and their interactions with both mammalian hosts and mosquito vectors. EVIMalaR’s International PhD Programme aims to train talented young scientists from both North and South in malaria research, with emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches.Training of the future EVIMalaR students is conducted through the virtual European Malaria Graduate School, which is organized and operated in collaboration with the EMBL and the Heidelberg University.Applications are invited for studentships (funded for a maximum of 3.5 years) linked to collaborative research projects, each supervised by two or more principle investigators from different countries.      <description>For the next 2011-2014 period IRD 016 CCPV and UMR 2724 GEMI units have decided to merge into a unique new joint research unit called MIVEGEC (Infectious diseases and vectors: ecology, genetics, evolution, andcontrol) . The unit’s main interest will focus on the biology of pathogens, their hosts and their vectors. It will group together professors, lecturers, researchers, engineers, and technicians from the University of Montpellier 1, the IRD and the CNRS, joined by several lecturers from other universities, for a total of approximately 120 scientists, including 85 permanent staff members.</description>
